About Me

I am a retired science teacher formerly with the West Genesee Central Schools in Camillus, NY. Besides the Webmaster I am also the West Genesee Teachers’ Association Assistant Newsletter Editor. I was a teacher for 36.5 years and a union officer for almost all of that time, holding the positions of building rep, building leader, Vice President, VP for Negotiations, and VP for Grievances).  I have done the WGTA website since 1998.  Being a union leader gives me a unique perspective on what types of information should, and shouldn't, be included on the website. This is an important consideration when you look for a Webmaster -- as you are going to use your website to  "communicate to the world."

I have entered the WGTA.net website in 11 national competitions (through the American Federation of Teachers Communication Network – AFTCN) and 6 state competitions (through the New York State United Teachers). The site has won 10 of the 11 national competitions and 5 out of 6 state competitions.  (Note:  both competitions are divided into four classes based on the size of the local, the WGTA has around 390 active and 200 retired members.) I have also completed four business sites that are currently generating revenue for their owners.
